With the Summer comes the heat. This week we had multiple heat advisories and have another one for tomorrow with a real feel of well over 100 degrees.
For the well-being and safety of our drivers we encourage them to start routes earlier when it’s going to be hot so they can finish routes sooner and get off the hot asphalt before the sun turns the heat to full blast.
This means pick-up times will become earlier in the morning making it imperative that our customers’ trash is out the night before their pick-up day.
We probably sound like broken records saying “trash needs to be out the night before your pick-up day”. We tell every new customer when they start service. We put it in the welcome letter we send with service agreements. We publish it in multiple locations on our website and in posts on our Facebook page. Even still, every time we have a driver start even just a half hour earlier than usual for one reason or another we have customers who don’t have their trash out in time and call to tell us we “missed” it.
We don’t like to not pick-up the garbage. We don’t want it to sit until next week. We like to do our jobs, provide a high-quality service and pick-up carts of trash. But we can’t do our jobs and pick-up the trash if that trash isn’t out when we arrive.
So please…please please, take this as a notice that our drivers are coming early and have your trash out the night before your pick-up day this Summer and on into the future.
